Wet Weather
Mercury Rx in Pisces
My natal Mercury is retrograde. That means that usually Mercury Retrogrades don’t derail me TOO much (knock wood). The Rx in Leo last summer was the worst I can remember - stationing as it did right on my natal Mercury in Leo in my first house - but most of the time the major issues I have are collective ones (travel is always iffy during a Rx because it involves groups of people all moving in space/time together).
This one, in my eighth house, has been… watery in the most obvious ways. First, it’s been emotionally trying for non-obvious reasons (to quote Kate Bush, “I don’t know why I’m crying!”). It’s also been literally wet outside (rainy weather) and in (hot water heater expiring dramatically).
It’s a good example of how the layers of the astro cycles combine - with one another and with your natal chart - to form their own particular alchemy. We’ve got Jupiter Exalted in Cancer just turning direct again. We’ve got Mercury Rx in another water sign. We’ve just got through eclipse season. And you and I have our own charts, that make these events highly personal. Not to mention that all of that it filtered through out time lord for the year.
It’s what makes this such a beautiful and confounding dance of art and science and intuition and practicality.
This coming week eases up a bit. We have a planning day on the 18th (a Mercurial planning day, ironically enough) and the 19th is the start of a new lunar month. Mercury goes direct on the 20, just as we enjoy the equinox and the Sun’s ingress into Aries. The 22nd is the best day of the month, magically speaking, and I’m working on a super liminal and numinous rite that’s all about deep dreaming and shaking up your personal status quo. Much more visionary and oneiric than my usual.
I guess this space weather has put me in a watery mood (looking on the bright side here).
