The end of next week the Sun moves into Leo and Venus, already in the Lion’s sign, goes retrograde. This is THE topic of conversation in the circles I hang out in (bunch of astro-nerds!) and here’s how I’ve been thinking about it.
First, go to astro.com and run your chart with Whole Sign Houses. Then fill in the following MadLib:
This Venus retrograde will cause me to reevaluate my desires around and relationship with ____________________________ (the house your Leo is in) in a way that manifests publicly through _________________________(the house where your Sun is).
For this exercise, house terms might include:
1st: myself, who I am
2nd: resources, money, what I have, what sustains me
3rd: my community, my environs
4th: my roots, my mother, my ancestors
5th: creativity, my children, what I manifest
6th: illness, hard work, habits
7th: my partner, my marriage
8th: loss, transformation, inheritance
9th: religion, pilgrimage, God
10th: my career, my reputation
11th: my friendship, my networks
12th: what traps me, what haunts me, what I hide from myself
Here are a few examples:
Leo rising, Sun in Leo (this is me, by the way)
This Venus retrograde will cause me to reevaluate my desires around and relationship with MYSELF (1st house) in a way that manifests publicly through WHO I AM (Sun in the 1st). [By the way, this is the most Leo thing ever “but enough about me, what do you think about me?”]
Taurus rising, Sun in Aquarius
This Venus retrograde will cause me to reevaluate my desires around and relationship with MY ROOTS (4th house), in a way that manifests publicly through MY CAREER (Sun in the 10th). [Maybe your parents wanted you to be a doctor, but you’d rather work in social justice.]
Aquarius rising, Sun in Virgo
This Venus retrograde will cause me to reevaluate my desires around and relationship with MY PARTNER (7th house), in a way that manifests publicly through LOSS (8th house Sun). [Yikes, sorry about that!]
Now, obviously this is only a snapshot. It doesn’t take into consideration the characteristics of your Sun sign (which is HOW you will manifest) or your other planets (particularly Venus) and their signs / houses / relationships (all the things that make up a birth chart). But it is an interesting way of viewing the next few months.
Final note, if you don’t know your birth time, this MadLibs doesn’t work. To figure out your birth time, you can have an astrological rectification done.
Do we look at the placements in the natal chart or solar return chart?
