Next Sunday (the 30th) is the final day of our novena to peace for St. Catherine of Siena.
It’s also the week of the full moon and a lunar eclipse in Scorpio. Full moons are typically times for talking with spirits, but this full moon is ill advised for this sort of activity. Venus is square Neptune, suggesting confusion and fogginess in relationships and the following day is the lunar eclipse.
I appreciate that magic during eclipses is a controversial topic. Here’s my take on it, based on having done eclipse magic in the past (and having gotten my fingers burned):
Solar eclipses are malefic and ill-omened and have been considered such throughout history and across the world. Having been under the total “Great American Eclipse” in 2017 I can confirm that the energy is dark. Is there magic you can do with this energy? Yeah, but it’s not happy magic. It’s not super, duper full moon magic. No, it’s kind of nasty. The other strong sensation I had during totality was being seen by something. Kind of an Eye of Sauron vibe to be honest with you. So work at your own risk and take care to keep out of sight.
Lunar eclipses on the other hand are chaotic. They increase the chaos of any working you do. Again, are there appropriate workings, yes. But that chaotic energy is like playing with electricity near water. There’s a real chance of it getting away from you and giving you a shock. I got seriously burned by this once and I don’t want to repeat the experience.
So that’s my PSA. Stick to prayer and grounding and save your enchantments for better times. The nice thing about the lunar days is that there’s another set happening very soon.
