The New Moon is very late at night on Sunday next week (at least in Pacific Time, where I’m at). The way I calculate the lunar days is that if the Moon is new after sunset, I call the following morning lunar day one. That means that sometimes there’s an in-between day between the end of the old month and the beginning of the new one. I use these as planning days and they work perfectly for that purpose since they send to occur every few months.
This New Moon is perfect for lunar based magic. This first lunar day is on the day of the Moon. Next lunation has a pair of eclipses and I’m firmly in the camp of not doing positive practical enchantment during an eclipse. Regardless, each new moon is an opportunity to start fresh.
There are also great days to keep your plans for getting disrupted, the first day of Lent (in case you are in a sacrificial mood), and a nice time to strengthen your networks.
