Friday the 6th is the feast day of St. Norbert and the day for ‘making children obey their father.’ St. Norbert is an interesting and highly jail-breakable Catholic Saint who was in the priesthood, but frankly not too dedicated or serious about it. He was riding when a bolt of lightening hit nearby and startled his horse, who then threw him. This sparked a revelation and rededication to his faith and practice. In modern magical parlance, he had an initiatory experience.
This day is also the day of the lunar conjunction with Spica, which is a particularly lovely and beneficent star. Sphere + Sundry’s Venus’ Aerial Delight is aligned with this star and being as it’s a Friday, this would be a lovely pairing. Perhaps you could foment a less forceful initiation by calling on Spica to fertilize the ground where your dedication and determination will grow.
I publish a monthly rite for the Inner Circle membership and the May rite calls on Spica specifically and can be leveraged for this purpose (the idea is that by the end of the year, it’s a Grimoire of magical rites that can be used as is or reconfigured for all kinds of workings).
This month’s monthly rite will be for the Solstice. I’m deep in research mode now.
