Hey! Hope you aren’t sick of me spamming you with cool stuff yet. I promise after my big announcement on the Solstice, you will be seeing a regular weekly schedule of posts. There’s just a lot going on and I’m too excited to keep it all to myself.
OK, let’s say that you have a big goal you want to achieve. Maybe a house in the country with space for a garden before your current lease is up. There are lots of practical tips for reaching big goals like this (and we’ll be getting into that) but you know, right off the bat, that you will need to do a lot of enchantment to pull it off.
But how do you do that? First, how do you figure out all the spells you want to do and work up a bunch of magic rituals? And then, once you get that done, how do you find the time to do them all?
I was in this situation. I had a toddler who never slept, a full time job, and a writing project that I was working on. I wanted to do magic, but man, it was a struggle just to get my hair washed. And so I began to create my modular magic framework.
Over the years, I found and extracted the commonalities from tons of different kinds of magic, worked up reusable components, and along the way figured out what works and what doesn’t.
Let me be clear, that’s the whole secret sauce: Find the common elements of ritual / magic, source reusable pieces, determine when to use them, and then enchant your ass off.
I recommend everyone who wants to do more magic create themselves a framework.
Of course, maybe you have that big project and deadline NOW. You don’t have the time to create your framework. Or maybe you’re new to magic and you’d rather be enchanting than researching. Fair enough! I put together the pieces of my framework into a short course. Learn from my efforts (and my mistakes).
This is a quick, self-paced, written course of six lessons. It comes with the theory of WHY I do things as well as the suggestions for HOW and specific examples you can just outright adopt or adapt, but it also works with any kind of magic you already do. I figure if you are in this situation, you need something you can get through in day or so… not something that will take six weeks.
This mini course will get you up and running fast. You’ll be doing basic enchantments immediately with the basic pieces. But it will also teach you how to vette your own additions to the system, so that you know that they will work FOR YOU.
This course came from a series of member only posts and, while I have expanded the content slightly, it’s still mostly that same content. Which is why members of my magic circle get the course for free.
